October 13th saw the opening of two brand-new Family Hub sites in Stockport (Brinnington and Adswood) and Life Leisure are proud to be supporting this project as Family Hub Bridges.
Stockport Council is one of just 12 Local Authorities to be allocated a share from a £12m pool of funding to bring together services under the Family Hub model; a system-wide model of providing high-quality, joined-up, whole-family support services, for families with children up to age 19, or up to age 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Life Leisure are proud to be a Family Hub Bridge, where we will build on our strong connections with families and provide information regarding existing services in the borough that enable families to get early help from a range of charities and organisations. Staff are undergoing training to be able to correctly signpost and offer referrals into the Family Hub support. We’re also here to have warm conversations and create welcoming and non-judgemental spaces for our families to access information should they wish to do so.
These Family Hubs are a great addition to the Stockport community and will help many families with struggles they may be facing. If you or someone you know would like to access the service, you can find the hubs on Westmorland Drive, Brinnington and Garners Lane, Adswood. You can also head into one of the following Life Leisure hubs to chat to a member of the team: Avondale, Brinnington, Romiley or Stockport Sports Village.
