Accessibility statement

Our commitment to accessibility

Life Leisure is committed to ensuring that our physical activity, health and wellbeing services, resources, and information are accessible and inclusive for everyone. We recognise that people have different needs, abilities, and circumstances, and we aim to remove barriers that may prevent individuals from accessing our services.

Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where all individuals feel respected, supported and able to engage with our services.

Accessible services

We strive to make Life Leisure accessible by:

  • Providing information in clear and accessible formats wherever possible
  • Offering support to individuals with a wide range of physical, sensory, cognitive, and mental health needs
  • Making reasonable adjustments to enable participation in our programmes and services
  • Ensuring our venues and facilities are accessible wherever possible
  • Supporting people who may need additional assistance to engage with our services

Communication and information

We aim to ensure our communications are inclusive and understandable. Where possible, we:

  • Use clear and simple language
  • Provide alternative formats on request (such as large print, digital copies, or accessible documents)
  • Support individuals who may require assistance with communication
  • Work with interpreters or support services where appropriate

Digital accessibility

We aim for our digital platforms, including our website and online resources, to be accessible to as many people as possible. We work towards recognised accessibility standards and aim to ensure our digital content can be accessed using assistive technologies.

Physical accessibility

While accessibility features may vary by location, we aim to provide:

  • Step-free access to buildings and activity areas, including ramps or level entrances
  • Passenger lifts to allow access to different floors
  • Accessible parking, including designated disabled parking bays located close to entrances
  • Accessible toilets, including wheelchair accessible facilities
  • Changing Places facilities where available, providing additional space and equipment such as adult sized changing benches and ceiling hoists

Accessible changing rooms

  • Pool access support, such as pool hoists, graduated steps, handrails, or sloped entries, to support safe access to swimming pools
  • Clear signage and wayfinding to help people navigate the building more easily
  • Adequate lighting and seating areas throughout facilities
  • Quiet or low-stimulus spaces where appropriate for individuals who may benefit from a calmer environment

We recognise that accessibility needs can vary from person to person. If you require specific support or would like to check the accessibility features available at a particular venue, we encourage you to contact us in advance so we can discuss how best to support your visit.

Feedback and continuous improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment. We regularly review our practices and welcome feedback to help us improve.

If you encounter any barriers when accessing our services or information, please let us know so we can work to address them.
