  • The gym will be temporarily closed from Saturday 7th December – Friday 20th December (inclusive) while work is being carried out. Please note, the upstairs changing rooms will also be closed during this time.

A brand-new group exercise class, Reformer360, is coming to Life Leisure Cheadle! This is a game-changer, offering a unique way to build strength, flexibility, and balance.

At Life Leisure, we’re always looking for ways to improve your health and wellbeing experience, and we’re confident this newest addition will be another well-received member perk.

Unlike traditional mat Pilates, our brand-new Reformer360 class uses a specialised machine to provide a more effective workout. Here’s why you’ll love it:

  • Versatile workouts: Adjust the machine for tailored resistance levels, making it suitable for beginners as well as intermediate or advanced individuals.
  • Increased core stability: Using a machine challenges your core muscles more effectively, improving stability and supporting better overall body control.
  • Efficient muscle conditioning: Target multiple muscle groups at once, allowing for a comprehensive workout in less time.
  • Low-impact, high results: The machines design supports the body, making it easier to perform exercises without putting unnecessary strain on the joints.

StrongHer – beginners weightlifting course for women.

2024 Course start dates:
Monday 4th November

Spend six-weeks with our expert coaches and learn everything you need to lift weights safely, efficiently and with confidence, alongside other likeminded women. We’ll teach you how to squat, deadlift, press and pull as well as loads of other essentials! By end of this six-week course, you’ll know how to perform all the main exercises needed to lift weights with confidence.

This course is designed for complete beginners, so even if you’ve never touched a weight before you’ll get along just fine. However, if you do have some experience of lifting weights, you’ll also find this course very beneficial in learning how to structure your workouts, how to lift correctly and iron out any bad habits you may have picked up!

The six-week course is priced at £135.00 and includes:

  • Two 60-minute group sessions per week (four members per group)
  • Six-week resistance and HIIT training programme
  • Core stability training
  • Benefits of lifting weights
  • How to feel more confident in the gym
  • How to structure a good warm up

Days and times:

  • Monday: 7.00pm
  • Tuesday: 10.15am and 7.30pm
  • Thursday: 8.00am and 7.00pm
  • Saturday: 8.30am

Group exercise classes

Life Leisure offer a fantastic range of group exercise classes catering for all fitness levels and abilities, such as HIIT, Body Pump, Yoga and Spin. Some classes are more intense than others, but each class can be modified for all abilities with adaptations for exercises given where needed.

R1G powered by H1VE is a brand-new functional training space in the gym. As well as being able to use this space for your workout in the gym, the R1G area also hosts four new classes designed to boost your fitness and increase your strength: R1G Strength, R1G Engine, R1G Form and R1G Team.

All classes can be booked up to seven days in advance and we highly recommend doing so where possible to avoid disappointment. Members can book via the Life Leisure app or website.

Come and enjoy our 33m main pool with sessions available for lane swimming, fun swims, general swims and inclusive swims! Our small pool is perfect for little ones and hosts Baby Splash and Toddler Splash sessions as well as free disabled swimming sessions.

Lockers require padlocks to secure your belongings. You can bring your own or purchase one from reception for £4.00

Access for carers and support workers

Carers and support workers can access the facility free of charge to accompany an individual to the gym or pool at Life Leisure Cheadle. A leisure key companion/carer card is required to set up a casual companion account to enable bookings.

Gym Equipment

Users may be able to use the StarTrack dual adjustable pulley and StarTrack pull up/chin up/dip assist machine depending on ability.

Equipment for people who cannot leave their wheelchair include:

  • StarTrac – Seated row
  • StarTrac – Chest press
  • StarTrac – Shoulder press
  • StarTrac – Lat pull down
  • StarTrac – Pec fly/rear Delt

Equipment for other for participants who can leave wheelchair include:

Please note, the cardio machines are in the upstairs gym area which can only be accessed via stairs.

There is a free disability swim session on a Wednesday evening 8.00pm – 8.45pm at Life Leisure Cheadle. Suitable for 11+ years and must be able to swim at least 25m unaided.

Little Cherubs crèche is open to children aged six-weeks to eight-years. This service is available to users of Life Leisure facilities. Reservations can be made via the Life Leisure app, but payment is required on arrival.
