Swimming lessons are coming to Life Leisure Marple from January 2027. Whether they’re taking their first strokes or building confidence in the pool, our friendly lessons will help little swimmers learn, grow and have fun in the water.

Supported swimming Lessons

We know that busy pools can be a bit too much for some children, especially those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). That’s why we will be offering swimming lessons during quieter times at Marple, so every child can feel comfortable, confident, and have fun in the water!

Here’s what to expect in our quieter sessions

  • A calmer environment – perfect for focus and confidence-building.
  • Supportive instructors – experienced in helping children with SEND thrive.

The Smarter way to train

EGYM takes the guesswork out of your training, helping you understand where you’re starting from, work towards your goals, and see your progress along the way.

It’s designed to make strength training feel simpler and more personal, whether you’re new to the gym, looking to get stronger or want to make more progress from the time you spend working out.

And because your progress is tracked, you can see how you’re improving over time, giving you something to work towards and a reason to keep going.

In fact, members using EGYM have recorded an average 15.2% increase in strength after just one month, rising to 18.1% after three months.

All users will need to book an initial induction session before getting started. We’ll be sharing more details on how to book this as we get closer to opening our doors.

There is step-free access into the hub, with a lift taking you to the 1st floor, a pool hoist for those who need support getting into the pool, and a registered changing place. The timetable will also include inclusive sessions such as our popular SEND family swim.

When will Life Leisure Marple be open?

Where is Marple Hub?

Marple Hub, home to Life Leisure Marple with a gym, pool and studios, is located on the site of the old Marple Library, just next to Marple Memorial Park. 

Will there be a pool at Marple Hub?

Yes. The hub will feature a five-lane swimming pool and splash pad, alongside a gym and group exercise timetable, ran by Life Leisure.

When is Life Leisure Marple due to open?

We’re expecting to open Life Leisure Marple later this year and will update our website with an official opening date as soon as we can. For all building updates for Marple Hub, please visit the council website.

What membership options will be available?

Memberships for Life Leisure Marple are available now. View and buy membership packages here. We also have a corporate package, which you can find information on here. There will also be pay-as-you-go options for all activities. If you have any questions about memberships, please email customersucccess@lifeleisure.net

I’m already a member, can I use Life Leisure Marple?

If you’re on a HUB Extra membership with access to all our hubs, then Marple will automatically be included when we open. If you’re on a HUB membership with access to selected hubs, you’ll need to upgrade to include Marple. If you’re unsure which package you’re on, please email customersuccess@lifeleisure.net

Will I need a membership to use the swimming pool?

No, you don’t need a membership to enjoy our pool, but if you’re planning to swim regularly a membership may offer better value for money.

All swimming sessions can be booked online seven days in advance. While you can also turn up and pay on the day, we recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment.

When will swimming lessons become available to book?

We’ve begun planning lesson times and will start to contact those on the waiting list soon. Once the waiting list has been cleared, we’ll then open up any remaining spaces and these will be available to book online. Swimming lessons at Marple will start in January 2027. 

What group classes will be available?

We will have a variety of classes available similar to those offered at other Life Leisure hubs. The timetable is being finalised and we’ll be sharing this with you very soon.

Saturday 8.00am – 6.00pm (gym closes at 5.00pm)
