Children across Stockport enjoyed a frighteningly fun half term thanks to Life Leisure.
The leisure provider runs Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) camps every half term to provide fun activities to children.
As part of the sessions this week (24th – 28th October) they welcomed England Netball player Abbey Barry who joined the youngsters with the Bee Netball scheme, England Netball’s programme to introduce children to netball skills.
Hannah Bowler, Active Communities & Kids Manager, said: “As always, we’ve had a lot of active fun this half term with around 200 children getting involved in various fun activities.
“It was fantastic to welcome Abbey to the centre to help teach the children the different techniques of throwing, catching, footwork and shooting in netball.
“This programme is designed to support every child’s personal development on and off the court, so it wasn’t just about playing netball, they were also encouraged to work as a team, think logically and even problem solve – it was a lot of fun!”
More than a hundred children also took part in the Halloween Treasure Hunt, organised by Hannah and General Manager of Brinnington Leigh Appleton, which saw children following special maps to find spooky monsters around the town.
Hannah added: “The Halloween Map hunt was a huge success. The children were very excited to take part and had a wonderful time running around searching for the next destination on the map.”
