A new café opportunity has been announced at Marple Hub, the £20 million community facility set to open in Marple before the end of 2026.
Life Leisure, as agent of Stockport Council, is looking for a café partner to operate the main food and beverage offer within the new hub.
The café will occupy a 155m² space at the heart of the building, with seating for up to 50 customers across indoor and outdoor areas. It will overlook the swimming pool and sit close to reception and the library, creating an opportunity for the café to become an important part of the new community facility.
Marple Hub will bring together a range of facilities and services under one roof, including a five-lane swimming pool and splash pad, a 60-station gym, fitness studios, library and learning facilities, community rooms, Marple Clinic and Family Hub services.
The café is expected to provide a modern, all-day, family-focused offer, with options for customers to eat in or grab something on the go. The offer will include quality barista coffee, smoothies, juices and shakes, alongside a healthy and balanced food offer.
Sustainability will also be an important part of the café operation, with the successful partner expected to consider food provenance and seasonality, minimise food waste, use local suppliers where practical and avoid single-use plastics.
The café space is already partially fitted, including a servery and counter, with a dedicated catering store. Utilities will be covered as part of the agreement, while Life Leisure will also provide support with recruitment, training and building induction.
The café opportunity is now open for expressions of interest and business plans, with submissions due by 14th September 2026. Interviews and selection are expected to take place during September, ahead of the hub’s opening before the end of the year.
